March 2010
As I write this, I am buried in schoolwork, and am gearing up for another big chess tournament taking place this weekend. I apologize
for the "rushed" look of this newsletter.
For those of you who have attended WBC or Euroquest, you may have met the brilliant gamer Tom Dunning. It is with sadness that I report
Tom passed away last month. Tom was a multiple champion at several games, most notably Empire Builder and Ra. Tom was 51.
EPGS will be hosting another game-related tournament in April (see below). Whether or not you plan to participate, I look forward to
see all of you at the upcoming meetings. Game on!

(Age of) Steam Tournament to Take Place at April 17th Meeting
All Aboard! EPGS member and 2009 WBC Age of Steam finalist John Karr will be conducting a Steam/Age of Steam tournament during the April 17th
meeting at the Oxford Valley Mall starting at 2PM. The tournament will be a two round, single elimination format. It is recommended
that anyone who wishes to participate should bring a copy of either game if he or she owns a copy. The first round
can be either game; the final will be the special format that John described at the March 20th meeting. The winner receives
the usual bragging rights.
For more information, you can click here the contact John via email. Best of luck to all!
The Games We Played - March 2010
Apparently, March was a good month for Tichu. The card game was played a total of 11 times at meetings throughout the month.
Notable second place finishers with four plays each are the classic Axis & Allies and the new game Washington's War.

list of games played in March.
